Von Brunswick! He’d have a scepter in his hand…

Von Brunswick! He’d have a scepter in his hand…

This is the first track of the Von Brunswick concept album that everone has been waiting for! If you have no clue what I’m talking about, I am doing a concept album on a Prussian gypsy peasant who thinks he should be king… the story will be presented through songs on here and as well with water-color-pencil sketches that I will post periodically…

Gwen sings the harmony on this song… her voice puts mine to shame.

Poison Dart Fairies

Poison Dart Fairies

This song is pretty at first but kinda falls apart… I wish I had time to be anal about these recordings…. but something about them being a bit rough makes it good.

I play a bunch of instruments in this song. You can figure it out.

A Blissful Shame

A Blissful Shame

This song is about incapacitated old people who never really did anything in their lives (there are some of them out there… it’s quite sad) I didn’t realy write this song like I normally write one… I wrote the music first and just fit some vocal melodies overtop. There are a few dozen electric guitars on this song… as well as drums, accordian… and that’s it.

My voice sucks here cause I’m sick… I think I might have the bird flu! But thesundaythursday must go on… through drought and sickness and fire from the sky… Forsooth!!!

Ever So Swiftly Into the Abyss

Ever So Swiftly Into the Abyss

This song is a bit rough and not too well mixed but I think it’s pretty good anyway… I recorded it between 9:45 pm and 12:30 am of Thursday. I play the usual stuff in this song… minus the accordion.
I heard the other day that I might get paid to do a whole album of childrens songs concerning home safety, asthma, fires/burns, mold etc… keep your fingers crossed

Childhood Room

Childhood Room

Finally a quieter song… But… Warning, this song has sexually implicit lyrics. What song doesn’t. Last night was the big springfest party, it went well. All in all throughout the night we had about 60-80 people… not all at one time though. There were three waves of partiers… each wave was increasingly more drunk and rowdy… I wore a parrot on my shoulder all night. His name was Phillipe le Parrot. He smoked a cigarette for a while too.

In this song I play the usual instruments… but that clicking sound it me hitting the mikestand with a stick.

The Soldier Queen

The Soldier Queen

This is a song that is some sort of rough precursor to the Von Brunswick album… it’s another march sort of thing. I’ve lately kinda standardized my instrument lineup to… Guitar, Bass, Drums, Accordian…

I know you know I know you know too

I know you know I know you know too

I spent the weekend in Columbus with Gwen… just got back at 8:00 and recorded this tonight. I really am happy with the beat of it and stuff. In it I play guitars, basses, drums, vocals, wine bottles, sneaker tongues, cast iron radiators, rand mcnally maps, kazoos, sheep umbilical cords, machete blades, half eaten snickers bars, computer screens and parakeete femurs… it turned out quite well considering thiese crude rudiments.

“Oh No… Not Again”

“Oh No… Not Again”

That was the last thing that went through the head of the bowl of petunias as it plummeted toward magrathea. I hope you know what I’m talking about. That’s the feeling I got with this song. Is anyone even listening anymore??? Please comment if so. I have a feeling that I’m wasting my time.

In this song I play… Guitar, Drums, Bass, Mandolin and Accordian.
