A Cyborg Childhood

A Cyborg Childhood

This is what a cyborg childhood sounds like.
Mandolin, Ukulele, Jews Harp, Tom-drum… effects… this is called Sci-Folk.

When the Them put the You to an End

When the Them put the You to an End

this is the best song I’ve written in a while.  It needs bass.  But it’s to late at night to go borrow my roomates’.  Selected lyrics from this song…

someday… I’ll get my hooks into you
from my lonely little room
… this is me waking up I presume
but when I went to bed I was you

one way… to grow out of yourself
is growing into someone else
…the you in there becomes them
when the them puts the you to end

I’ll be found in you
finding yourself in me

changing is the inner working parts of the same
just going under a different name
In this song I play the acoustic, electric, Glockenspiel and a bunch of drum stuff.

Blessed Hypocrite

Blessed Hypocrite

Ohhh a song about religion! This one goes under “A bewildered Snail Cacaphony” for incessant buzzing and busy tremorous melodies. Imagine a bunch of frightened snails screaming slowly… as they DO!

In this I play all sorts of drum crap… electric guitar, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, bells

Von Brunswick! Alone in the woods…

Von Brunswick! Alone in the woods…

Finally another Von brunswick song… it wasn’t actually meant to be a VB song but it fit perfectly. It’s actually a redo of a song that I originally said was a precursor to the album but oh well… it’s about him being hallucinogenic and sleepy in the woods… the trees talk to him etc.

I play the old 1969 guitar tuned down to open E, the electric, the drums, the glockenspeil. Enjoy.

Green Lights

Green Lights

This is a song about thinking about and talking about random hypotheticals and how I hope that feature of personality doesn’t fade with youth.

The recording isn’t quite as good as the writing for this song. No time at all. Half of this song was recorded while five people unloaded their gear on top of my head.

In this I play, an old 1969 hand-me-down guitar, a real snare drum (which I bought for Cheap at a pawn shop in Mckeesport), accordion and Glockenspiel.

Emergent Pittsburgh Theme

Emergent Pittsburgh Theme

I wrote a theme song for Brian Wallace’s Emergent Church Podcast. This is it. Gwen does the voiceover. I play guitar, glock, drums etc… Too busy and/or tired to write more.

Rainwalk

Rainwalk

Old song…i.e. 2003. wrote and recorded this on my old equipment with the dulcimer etc… hitting microphone with a pen.

Invented some new words today with an old friend. e.g. Omnicisn’t (omniscient isn’t… someone who act’s omniscient but isn’t… someone with a wealth of wrong information) Use it…

Steelers just lost… bumber… wierd mood. Enjoy the song.

The Ash is the future

The Ash is the future

Brian Jump came over and we rocked this one up… Guitar, Bass, Drums, Harmonica, Accordion, Glockenspiel, Vox scandanavia…

It’s a good combo between like a hippy song and an indie song. And it’s actually mixed well b/c of Jump. I never mix my stuff… I just layer the sheet with full EQ’s all across the board… this one’s parts actually hold their own property… on songs that I “mix” all the parts are like on some sort of slumber party or something.

Bass Demo three

Bass Demo three

Here is a quick instrumental I recorded the other day… I do bunches of these little things all the time and figure that some of them while not actually being full songs are good enough to be shared… maybe someone will use it for a podcast or something. Bass, Guitar, Drums, shaker.

And now to improve my google-ability…
