This song’s genre is labeled “island-folk” I’ve decided that the whole Von Bruswick album will be a collection of all the different types of folk music. Folk is a very versatile word and I intend to exploit it in as many ways as possible. It’s anthropological meaning is (I’m paraphrasing) the mediating culture between two clashing cultures… one indigenous and one external or one enslaved and one enslaving. Such as American Folk being the the clash of African and early American styles and of Eastern European being the clash of western cultures with Russo and middle-eastern cultures. It’s really the best environment for uniqueness.
Anyhow… in this song VB wakes up from being washed ashore and finds a lady friend… by the end he is about to go into the swamp of gypsy goblins.
In this song I play Ukuleles (Both baratone and Soprano), Hand drums, Mandolin, Harmonica, and Banjo at the end.
